Other NoteChewning Blackmore, born 1 January 1663, was the only surviving son of William Blackmore (GEMMS Person-000302) and Mary Chewning. He was baptized at St Peter Cornhill on 2 January 1663. Because non-conformists were banned from universities, Blackmore was educated at John Woodhouse’s academy in Sheriffhales, Shropshire. He became assistant to Thomas Badlands at the congregational church in Worcester in 1688, remaining there for the rest of his life. He married Abigail Higgins in 1694 and had two sons, Francis and Edward. Blackmore died on 2 August 1737.
