Other NoteThe exact birth date of Laurence Bretton is unknown. Originally from Suffolk, he matriculated pensioner from Queens' College, Cambridge in Michaelmas 1601. Bretton graduated B.A. in 1604/5, proceeding M.A. in 1608. He was a fellow of Queens' College, Cambridge from 1608 until 1618. In 1620, he was instituted to the vicarage of Hitcham, Suffolk. Bretton was awarded the degree of B.D. in 1615; he proceeded D.D. in 1630. He was eventually sequestered in 1643.
