Other NoteThe exact birth date of Richard Bagot is unknown. Born c. 1530, he was the son of Thomas Bagot of Blithfield, Staffordshire. He succeeded his father in 1541. Bagot served as Sherrif of Staffordshire in 1569-70 and 1577-78. He was a friend of the first two Earls of Essex, who had a family seat in Chartley, Staffordshire. He died on 2 February 1597, and was buried at Blithfield, where his tomb still stands.
