Other NoteJoseph Gulston graduated B.A. from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1622/3, M.A. in 1626, and B.D. 1631/2 (Lit. Reg.); he served as college fellow in 1624 and was created D.D. at Oxford in 1643. Ordained as a priest in 1629, he was made vicar of Bottisham (Cambs) in 1633, rector of Ham (Wilts) in 1634, rector of Fonthill Bishop (Wilts) in 1639, rector of Bishop's Waltham (Hants) in 1643, and rector of Felpham (Ssx) in 1668. Gulston held a prebendary of Winchester from 1660 to 1669 and served as Dean of Chichester from 1663 to 1669. He is identified in ACAD (Venn) as having served as chaplain to the king, although the dates that he held this position are not disclosed. Gulston died 10 April 1669.
