Other NoteThomas Whaley, the fourth son of Thomas Whaley of Kirton (Notts), graduated B.A. from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1588/9, M.A. in 1592, B.D. in 1599, and D.D. in 1629. Whaley carved out a career at the college, serving as fellow in 1591, Senior Dean from 1614-6, Senior Bursar from 1616-9, and Vice-Master from 1631-7. Ordained in 1599, Whaley held only one benefice, that of Orwell (Cambs), from 1619 to his death in 1637. Whaley was buried in Orwell on 2 May 1637.
