Other NoteSon of James Heton, he was born in Bolton. He matriculated at Brasenose on 19 January 1690/1 at the age of twenty and gained his BA in 1694. He became curate and preacher at Cottered in December 1695, and then rector of Howell in 1701. In 1704 he became vicar at Layston and was incorporated at Cambridge, gaining his MA from Christ's College in the same year. He would be rector at Widdial from 1718 until his death, alongside his post at Layston.
