Other NoteThe exact date of birth of Katherine Austen (née Wilson) is unknown. She was born in the parish of St Mary Colechurch, London, in 1629, to Robert Wilson (d. 1639), draper, and his wife, Katherine (d. 1648). On 10 July 1645, Katherine married Thomas Austen (1622-1658), barrister. They had three children, Thomas, Robert and Anne. Katherine Austen's 'Book M' (British Library, Add MS 4454) dates from 1664 to 1668, and is a series of autograph meditations. Her will was proved in 1683.
