Other NoteMatthias Candler was born on 24 February 1605 at Yoxford, Suffolk. He matriculated sizar at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1620, graduating B.A. in 1624. He proceeded M.A. from Peterhouse in 1628. On 18 December 1625, Candler was ordained at Norwich. On 16 December 1629, he became vicar of Coddenham, Suffolk, holding this post until his death. Matthias Candler was also a topographer with a vested interest in the history of Suffolk. He died on 6 December 1663.
