Other NoteThe exact date of birth of John Chandler is unknown. He was the son of John Chandler, of Holywell, Oxford. John Chandler the younger matriculated at Hart Hall, Oxford on 28 June 1633 at the age of fifteen. He graduated B.A. from Magdalen College, Oxford on 28 May 1636. Chandler was sequestered to the rectory of Danbury, Essex on 6 February 1644/5; he relinquished this parish in 1646. In 1645, he was sequestered to the rectories of Fawkham and Hartley in Kent. Finally, in 1656, he became rector of Little Bromley, Essex.
