Other NoteBorn in the parish of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London, son of John Felton. Attended Cheney’s School, Buckinghamshire; Westminster School and Charterhouse School in London. Matriculated at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford, on 31 March, 1696. Graduated BA 1699, and graduated MA 1702. Received BD 1709 and DD 1712 from Queen's College, Oxford. Ordained a deacon 1702, and ordained a priest 1704. Preached at various London churches from 1704-1708. May have briefly been a curate at Bottesford, Lincolnshire in 1708. Served at the English church in Amsterdam 1708-1709. Married Susanna about 1710 and had four sons and two daughters. Appointed to the rectory of Whitewell, Derbyshire, 1711-1736. Appointed as rector of Barwick in Elmet, Yorkshire, 1736-1740. Served as principal of St. Edmund Hall, Oxford, 1722-1740. Died 1 March, 1740.
