Other NoteHenry Gough (later Gough-Calthorpe) was born on 1 January 1749, the first son of Sir Henry Gough, 1st Baronet. He was educated at Eton College and Oriel College, Oxford. In 1774, he inherited control of one seat at Bramber, and remained MP until he was created Baron Calthorpe on 16 June 1796. On 16 March 1798, he died at Grosvenor Square, London, and was the last of his line to be buried at the family estate at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
