Other Note4th Baron Digby of Geashill, of Coleshill. He was born 18 July 1657, the 3rd but second surviving son of Kildare, the 2nd Baron Digby. He had brother Robert and William Digby. He was educated privately by a clergyman at the family estate of Coleshill, before entering Magdalen College in 1674. He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1676 and after his brother Robert's death in 1677 succeeded him as Lord Digby, their father having died when they were children. He stood as court candidate for Coventry in 1679, but was the last candidate. He was mentored throughout his life by John Kettlewell, who would eventually preach his funeral sermon. He stood again for election in Warwick in 1685 and was returned, perhaps with the assistance of Lord Brooke. He was an active MP, serving on 20 committees. He married Lady Frances Noel, the daughter of Edward Noel, the first Earl of Gainsborough, on 27 August 1683. They would have one daughter. He died on 19 January 1686 and was succeeded by his brother.
