Other NoteDescribed as "Mr Avant Junior". Son of Philip Avant of St Budeaux, Cornwall. He matriculated at Gloucester Hall on 21 February 1661/2 at the age of 19. He was ordained as a deacon in 1663 and priest in 1664 and became vicar of Salcombe in 1666. He had two sons, Stephen and Thomas.
