Other NoteThe exact date of birth of Anthony Spinedge is not known. Originally from Wiltshire, he began his studies as a scholar at St Paul's School, London, in 1667. Subsequently, he was admitted pensioner, aged fifteen, at Jesus College, Cambridge, on 4 February 1666/7. He graduated B.A. in 1670/1, proceeding M.A. in 1674. He was elected Fellow in 1681, and was awarded his B.D. in the same year. In 1677, he was instituted to the vicarages of Impington and Guilden Morden in Cambridgeshire. Two years later, he became rector of St Mary Aldermary and rector of St Thomas the Apostle, both in London, holding these posts until his death. Spinedge was buried on 3 September 1694 at the former church.
