Other NoteThe exact date of birth of Yeldard Alvey is not known. Originally from Bedfordshire, he matriculated, aged sixteen, at Trinity College, Oxford, on 15 June 1610. Alvey graduated B.A. on 25 June 1614 and proceeded M.A. on 18 May 1618. He was awarded the degree of B.D. on 8 July 1625. From 1627, he was vicar of Eglingham, Northumberland. Subsequently, he was instituted to the vicarage of Newcastle-upon-Tyne from 1631 until his sequestration in 1645. Yeldard Alvey was buried on 19 March 1649.
