Other NoteThe exact date of birth of Thomas Tillam is not known. Raised as a Roman Catholic, after a brief period in America, Tillam was ordained in an Independent church in Wrexham, c. 1648/9. He became a Baptist preacher at Hill Cliffe, Cheshire. By the end of 1651, he was selected to be a Baptist leader in Hexham, Northumberland. Tillam had died by 5 August 1674; his death in Germany had been reported by Joseph Davis, a fellow Seventh Day Baptist based in London.
