Other NoteThe exact date of birth of Thomas Leadbeater is not known. Born at Holmes-Chapel, Cheshire, he was admitted pensioner, aged nineteen, at Christ's College, Cambridge on 5 February 1647/8. Leadbeater graduated B.A. in 1651 and proceeded M.A. five years later. He served as chaplain to Lady Wimbledon and was vicar of Hinckley, Leicestershire. He was ejected in 1662 and imprisoned a year later. Leadbeater subsequently became a licensed preacher at Hermitage, Cheshire. He died on 4 November 1679, and was buried at his birthplace.
