He was ordained as priest in 1574 and made rector of Melsonby, North Riding of Yorkshire. He was buried at Richmond, North Riding of Yorkshire on 20 February 1606/7. He was the father of Timothy, John (GEMMS Person 000429), and Nathaniel.
