Other NoteBaptised on 2 March 1617, educated at Uni of St Andrews and ordained to Kirkaldy 14 April 1642. He was transferred to St Paul 6 September 1647. He was appointed principal of Uni of Glasgow 14 April 1653, which he held alongside his charge. In 1661 he was imprisoned and indicted before parliament on 6 March for treason. He escaped execution and died in Leith in Feb 1675.
