Other NoteNicholas Preston, possibly the son of William Preston of Childwick, Herts., was matriculated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 1625, graduating B.A. in 1628/9 and proceeding M.A. in 1632, B.D. in 1639, and D.D. in 1661. He was a prebendary of Winchester from 1645-64, and was briefly rector of Droxford from 1663 until his death in 1664.
