Other NoteJohn Sudbury, born at Bury St Edmunds in 1604, matriculated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 1621; he graduated B.A. in 1624/5, proceeded M.A. in 1628, and may have also proceeded D.D. He was ordained deacon and priest in 1629, and was likely the vicar of Leigh from 1639 until he was sequestered in 1642. He held a prebend of Westminster from 1600-1 and was dean of Durham from 1661-84. He was buried in Durham Cathedral on 3 December, 1684.
