Other NoteBorn ca. 1632 to Thomas Porter (d. 1667), minister of Whitchurch, Shropshire. Educated at Chester School, Cheshire. Admitted to Christ's College, Cambridge in February 1648. Awarded BA in 1651, and MA in 1655. Ordained as presbyter. Possibly a preacher at Tilstock and Whitchurch, Shropshire, ca. 1650s. Later conformed and ordained as a deacon and priest in the Church of England in August 1662 in Chester. Curate of Tarporley, Cheshire, 1662-ca. 1676. Curate and Preacher at Bunbury, Cheshire, 1665-ca. 1707/8. He may have been assisted at Bunbury by his son John. Died on December 14, 1708, and buried at Bunbury.
