Other NoteThomas Harrison was born in London in 1555 and was educated as a youth at the Merchant Taylors’ School. He matriculated as pensioner at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1573 and was made scholar in 1575; he graduated B.A. in 1577, was elected fellow at Trinity in 1579, and proceeded M.A. in 1591. He served as senior dean of Trinity from 1593-4 and vice-master from 1611-30. He may have also been incumbent of St Andrew’s Church, Great Cornard, Suffolk from 1596 to 1630. A renowned biblical scholar, Harrison was one of the eight appointed Cambridge translators of the Authorized Version of the Bible. He died in 1630 and was buried in the Trinity College chapel.
