Other NotePreached a funeral sermon for George Rodney in the seventeenth century. The George Rodney who is the subject of the sermon is not specified, but BL manuscript catalogue dates the sermon to 1651. Atkins graduated Wadham College, Oxford, BA 1632; MA 1635. He was a Fellow of Wadham from 1639 to 1648, when he was expelled by the parliamentary visitors. He was restored in 1660 but resigned in 1661. He was prebend Bath and Wells (1660-72) and vicar at Chard (1661-72). Death date is conjectural based upon the end dates of his final appointments.
