Other NoteDavid Vaughan was the son of John Vaughan of Llangiby, co. Carnarvon. He matriculated at All Souls' College, Oxford in 1670 at age 17 with the designation "puer pauper," a type of undergraduate at the college that acted as household servants to the fellows (a short-lived practice that only lasted several decades in the 17th century). He graduated B.A. in 1674 and became vicar of Fletching, Sussex in 1689. The record of vacancy for his death is dated 28 November 1732.
