Other NoteAlthough there is no further information about Mr. Addison's identity in the manuscript where he is mentioned, it is possible that this Mr. Addison is in fact Lancelot Addison. The ODNB says he returned to England in 1670 from an appointment in Tangier, and if we take that as a new-style dating, then it is possible he is the Addison whose sermon was noted by Joseph Keble in MS. Rawl. E. 208.
