DescriptionAccording to the title page, the sermon was preached "in the Choir of Chester Cathedrall (at the Assizes held there) before the late Bishop of Chester, Lord Chief-Justice Jeakyl, &c. and Sr. John Chetwode Bart. High-Sheriff for both Countyes." The title page also refers to the "late" Bishop of Chester. The only Bishop of Chester who held the office in this period and had died by 1717 is Nicholas Stratford, so he must be the bishop in question, and the date must be no later than 1707, when Stratford died.
