DescriptionOn the leaf before f. 1r, there is a note written by Simonds D'Ewes in 1637, stating that these sermons by 'Mr Chatterton' were most likely noted by Paul Dewes while he was a student at the University of Cambridge (i.e. Easter 1584 until July 1585, when he was admitted to the Middle Temple). These sermons have been dated accordingly. 'Mr Chatterton' is clearly Laurence Chaderton, whose advanced age is emphasised by Simonds D'Ewes.
