DescriptionIdentified as "the sermon for which he [Lushington] had to recant." This description confirms that this is Lushington's sermon of Easter Monday, 1624, delivered at St Mary's Church, Oxford. Lushington denounced the war in Spain and spoke out against the House of Commons, and as a result was forced by the vice-chancellor to recant the following Sunday.
