DescriptionThis sermon has a full, carefully structured title page: "The Last Words of Mr. Francis Whiddon To his Dearly Beloved & Longed for The Inhabitants of Totnes; Delivered at his owne House when shut out of God's House June 22th. 1662. Many thinges are forgotten: some added; a few altered; and other amended." In the introduction to the sermon he indicates that his text is suitable as his farewell to his Totnes congregation, but it is also seasonable as a funeral sermon for Mr. John Garret who died June 13 and was buried June 17 (just five days before this sermon). Greek marginalia in a darker ink on some folios. The Alphabetical Table on ff. 33r-34r is related to the page numbers of the text (these page numbers are contemporaneous). Foliation is modern.
