DescriptionThis is a lengthy fair copy, derived from William Jones's shorthand notes from a sermon he heard as an apprentice in 1624, and written in a beautiful secretary hand. It occupies 16 leaves, written in a compact hand on both sides.
Source of DataJeanne Shami
Other NotePrecise date unknown. Only the year is given in the manuscript. Preacher uncertain. Jones says the sermon was preached by Dr. Peake. Humphrey Peake is the only cleric with that surname who was D. D. but he did not proceed to that degree until 1633. It is possible that Jones was referring to the title he later held at his death in 1645.
