DescriptionThis is a lengthy funeral sermon for John Plampin, written in a secretary hand complete with learned references and marginalia in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew. The sermon is ruled on four sides, and although the hand is clear and the additions carefully inserted the marginal spaces are crammed with commentary.

Other NoteThe preacher and date are unknown. The precise location is uncertain. It is likely that the sermon was preached in Shimpling, Suffolk, where the Plampin family had resided for centuries.
