DescriptionThe Hastings Collection, Personal Papers, Box 18, Folder 1 contains contains a small, oblong sermon notebook belonging to Lucy Hastings, Countess of Huntingdon (1613-1679). It contains very short notes of sermons, interspersed with meditations. Hastings frequently writes down the biblical verse, and sometimes summarises the doctrines and uses arising from each text. The names of preachers are not noted. Marginal annotations include biblical citations.
