DescriptionBright's chosen text is Revelations 5:6-10, the adoration of the Lamb by the 24 Elders. The sermon begins as follows: "In this peece of Scripture the holy Ghost doth sett fourth vnto vs […] the doctrine of Christes propheticall preisthoode, declaringe vnto vs withall the meanes of our salvation […]" (f. 1r). In the sermon, he appeals to uniformity in worship. There is also an apologia for psalm singing in churches. Written in a fair secretary hand, with italic script used for most patristic and biblical quotations. The scribal corrections are incidental copying errors as opposed to substantive emendations to the text.

Other NotePreacher uncertain. Although he is referred to only as 'Mr Bright' in the MS, it is conjectured by Peter McCullough that the preacher of this sermon is Arthur Bright. McCullough also suggests that the texts derive from transcripts of sermons.
