DescriptionThis manuscript is remarkable for the precision with which the anonymous scribe has copied the text. Notable is the fact that he nevertheless excises some of the typographical characteristics of the printed text. On the title page, it is stated that the sermon was 'both preached and published by his Maiesties commaundement'; however, the names of the printer and bookseller have not been included. The title-page vignette has also not been copied. While the original first page featured a decorative tetragrammaton and foliated initial, these have been omitted in the manuscript version, as have the signature numbers. Finally, not all of the marginal citations have been included in the manuscript witness.
