DescriptionSixth sermon in manuscript. This sermon is said to be "ye 1st time of his preaching." This may render the DWL's conjectural identification of Mr. Clark as Matthew Clarke suspect, since Clarke preached at Pinners' Hall as early as 1697 (ODNB). If the location is not Pinners' Hall, perhaps this identification can stand. However, if this is interpreted as the first time Clarke preached there on this particular text, rather than as the first time he preached at this venue, the sermon may have been preached both by Clarke and at Pinners' Hall. These notes are far lengthier than usual for this notebook.

Other NotePreacher uncertain. Sermon 8 is also preached on this text. It's heading, "being Mr. Nesbits last time preached for him," suggests that Mr. Nesbit had been intended as the preacher, but that Mr. Clarke preached in his stead.
