Preachingsca. 1618-02-21 (old) - Cockpit Theatre - Occasion not identified; The date is not given in the manuscript. It is identified as 21 February 1611 in Donne's printed "Fifty Sermons", but the year is corrected to 1618 in Potter and Simpson, vol. II.
Additional MaterialPreceded by a letter from Donne to the Countess of Montgomery (f. 86v), but it is unrelated to this sermon. This letter also precedes the sermon in the Dobell manuscript (see Potter and Simpson, vol. I, p. 35).
