Contents NoteThe front endpaper is headed with the name John A. Fairley, who has written “16 Tracts, two of which are in MS. One is not included in the Bibliography of Books printed in Scotland before 1700 and another although so included is marked as no copy available for collation. Underneath is a bookplate of Sir W. A. Cunynghame Bart of Livingstone. John Farley’s bookplate is on the verso of the following page. The front flyleaf contains multiple signatures of William Murray. Each text is separately paginated.
Material FeaturesLeather-bound quarto volume in which printed sermons have been bound together with a single manuscript sermon and another manuscript text at the end (“A vindication of set forms in generall and of the English service in particular” James Law, 1717). On the final endpaper is a Lauriston Castle 1915 bookplate. A later table of contents has been tipped into the volume, preceding a list of the preachers and texts in an earlier hand.
