Contents NoteThis entry comprises a manuscript sermon entitled 'In nomine Crucifixi' and dated 1648, bound in a copy of John Gauden, Eikon Basilike (London, 1649). Helen W. Randall has conjectured that the sermon was 'especially copied to be bound in what was perhaps a gift volume for Charles II'. See Randall, p. 141 n. 5.
Material FeaturesOctavo. The binding is stamped with the Royal crown, the initials 'CR', and a Death's head on the front and the back of the volume.
ProvenanceThe bookplate of W. H. Corfield is pasted onto the inside front cover of this volume. The signature 'J. H. Bromby' can be found on the title page of Eikon Basilike.
