Other NoteJohn Healey Bromby was born on 18 October 1770 and was educated at Hull Grammar School. He was admitted as a pensioner at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge on 8 January 1788, and was awarded a B.A. degree in 1792, proceeding M.A. in 1795. He also held a Fellowship at Sidney Sussex. Bromby was ordained deacon on 7 July 1792 and priest on 31 December 1797. He became Vicar of Holy Trinity, Hull in 1797, a post which he was to hold for almost seventy years. He was also Vicar of Cheswardine, Salop from 1821 until 1867, and Master of the Charterhouse, Hull from 1849 until 1868. His children included Charles Henry Bromby (1814-1907), Bishop of Tasmania. Bromby died at the age of ninety-seven on 25 March 1868.
