Other NoteJohn Hodgkin, FSA was born in Birmingham in 1857, the son of John Eliot Hodgkin and Sarah Ransome. Hodgkin died in 1930. An avid bibliophile, his collection was sold at Foster's, 4/5 May 1931. He is remembered today as a collector of cookery books, which are now held at the Bodleian Library, Leeds University Library, and the Wellcome Collection.
