Other NoteThe exact date of birth of George Burhope is unknown. Originally from Sutton, Herefordshire, he matriculated at Balliol College, Oxford on 21 February 1661/2 at the age of seventeen. He graduated B.A. in 1666. In 1667, he was instituted to the vicarage of Edlesborough, Buckinghamshire. He also served as chaplain to John Egerton, Third Earl of Bridgewater.
