Contents NoteThe manuscript contains sermons and notes for sermons by Philip Henry in his own hand. Some sermons are undated and only one records the places where they were preached. As Henry preached in both England and Wales during this period, the remaining sermons may have been preached in either country. The sermons that are dated range from 1656 to 1660.

Material FeaturesSmall notebook, probably composed of a collection of the small pamphlets on which Henry frequently wrote his sermons, in a later binding. The sermons are written in Henry's tiny but legible hand. There are several blank pages at the beginning. On the page facing the beginning of the first sermon is a note: "J. B. Williams 1823 Original sermons by the Rev. Philip Henry of Broad Oak, and in his own hand-writing J.B.W."
