Contents NoteSermons of John Hudson, Bishop of Elphin, 1667-1685 (ff. 3r-246r). The first sermon is dated 17 August 1657 and the rest are undated. The sermons follow the structure of Doctrines and Uses. Up to f. 234r, the contents appear to be fair copies. After that, the contents consist of the preacher's jottings, notes, and some more details outlines for sermons on particular texts. The volume also contains correspondence, dated 29 January 1666 to 23 May 1667, related to Hudson's appointment to the bishopric of Elphin (ff. 259v-261r).
Material FeaturesPaper. Large folio. The pages have a narrow ruled section on all four sides. Some folios are frayed around the edges, particularly the bottom near the binding. Different numbering and foliating systems are evident; that used in the top right-hand corners is referred to here.
