Contents NoteOn the front flyleaf the signature “Will: Hamilton” appears twice. The date Febr 1650 is in a different ink, and has been amended in the same ink as the top signature to read “Febr 26 1650 ending the 29 of Dece[mbe]r 1650.” Hamilton was minister at Glassford. The verso of the following leaf lists the texts of the seventeen sermons with the page numbers on which they begin. A later hand has added places and dates along with identifying historical events with which some of the dates are associated.
Material FeaturesSmall leather-bound notebook with spine stamped “MS Sermons 1650 W M Hamilton." Note pasted into the front of the volume identifies the notebook as part of the library of George Neilson, a Glasgow lawyer who died in 1923. The volume was purchased by the National Library of Scotland in 1927.Autograph sermons. Original pagination. Information in [] comes from later notes on the table of contents and on a few pages pasted onto the back board. Hand is small and sermons are written legibly with occasional notes in margin and some corrections.
