Material FeaturesOctavo volume, 4 3/4 x 6 1/2 inches. Bound in vellum. Written in a very clear neat hand. There is a note on the fly leaf: “The gift of my Father to me Mary Aldersley May ye 11th 1695”. On the following page there is a further inscription: “note, that following sermons, though here put all together, yet were delivered by Mr. Sherrad at distant times, in ten years space, in his ordinary course. And therefore it is not to be thought strange, if (all tending to one subject) the same matters & heads of Discourse do sometimes recur. But it will be found, on several of them, that though the same matters be in several sermons, yet they are, for the most part, if not always, variously & differently treated of & inlarged upon”.
