GEMMS IDGEMMS-MANUSCRIPT-001843
TitleSermons by various preachers. Miscellaneous theological notes. 1657.
ShelfmarkGB 247 MS Gen 439
Creation Date1696 -
Contents NoteThis manuscript contains notes of 8 sermons, alongside various theological notes. The catalogue indicates that these were written in 1657 but the only date given in the sermons is 1696, suggesting that the title is in error. The sermons are all in one hand by an unknown author. A short index is included at the beginning of the manuscript outline the 'texts' discussed up to p.126 (where the sermons end). The only names given in the sermons are in reference to works which they have been drawn from and so there is no available information as to the author and/or preacher(s).
Material FeaturesThis is a very small paper-bound notebook. The binding is preserved but is damaged and the manuscript is very delicate. The paper inside varies in size, suggesting that they contents were bound at a later date. There is minimal fraying around the edges and some discolouration, but otherwise the paper is in good condition.
