GEMMS IDGEMMS-MANUSCRIPT-000629
TitleSinnes first Threatninge
ShelfmarkMS I.f.8
Creation Date1648 - 1659
Contents NoteCollection of eight sermons on Genesis 2:17 by an unknown author. The full title is "Sinnes first Threatninge, In diverse Sermons upon the seventeenth verse of the second Chapter of Genesis."
Material Features19 x 15 cm. Bound in leather with blind tooling. The spine has a faded label with illegible letters in ink. Has Wilson's presentation stamp. In the last pages of the manuscript, the sermons are numbered and the preaching information is written in tables with tight columns that are difficult to read, partly because some of the ink is smudged. In addition, two series of dates are recorded on the same pages as the sermons -- one at the beginning and end, and one throughout -- although their meaning is unclear, since at first they synch up but eventually they diverge. There are numerous blank pages throughout the manuscript, including ten at the beginning and ninety-six near the end.
