Contents NoteC 47 (Chancery Miscellanea) contains a wide variety of documents, mostly of Chancery provenance. The documents within C 47/7 comprise a miscellany of commissions and returns. C 47/7/9 concerns the trial of John Rameriche, vicar of St. Michael's, Coventry. According to the History of Parliament, the result of the case is unknown (see link below). The contents within C 47/7/9 include interrogatories to be ministered unto Rameriche, the Chancellor of Coventry, and Christopher Warren (c. 1512-1571), the mayor of Coventry. The Chancellor of Coventry was called as witness to John Rameriche's sermon preached on 17 April. A 'Richard Bannewell' is also mentioned as a witness. This manuscript has been dated according to Warren's term of office.
