DescriptionThe full title of this leaf is 'Interrogatories to be mynystred vnto John Rameriche [...] vicare of Seynte Mychaells in the Citie of Coventrye'. Rameriche had preached a sermon which had caused offence 'in Trinitie churche in Coventrye the xviith daye of Apryll or thereaboute laste paste'. A 'Richard Bannewell' is named as a witness of the sermon. Rameriche had also preached on the 'Seconde daye of October laste paste [...] that every good sheparde ought to dye for hys shepe [i.e. John 10:11]', mentioning 'the thyrde place, whiche is Purgatorie' in the process. The preaching of 'Hubbardeyne' (presumably William Hubbardine, opponent of Hugh Latimer) is also mentioned as a connected concern. Christopher Warren, mayor of Coventry, was also involved in Rameriche's trial, although it is not explicitly stated that he was present at the sermons.
